It's March Madness time, and it's aptly named. This past weekend featured upsets galore. On the men's side, West Virginia beat Duke, and Davidson beat mighty Georgetown. In the women's tournament Ohio State was upset by Florida State, and in a wild game, the Marist girls found themselves trailing 55-44 to DePaul with about ten minutes to go in the game. At that point they went on a 32-2 run and beat DePaul 76-57. Yeah, I spent a lot of time on the couch this past weekend watching basketball.
My Tennessee girls started tournament play last night in West Layfette, Indiana, beating Oral Roberts 94-55. Now, it's on to round 2 where they'll face Purdue. It takes six wins to bring home the title. One down, five to go for my girls. I also have a soft spot for the local teams as well, West Virginia beat New Mexico and Maryland beat Coppin State.
