Wordless Wednesday - Sort Of

An infantry helmet of the 29th Division. Sixty four years ago the 29th Division was in the first wave at Omaha Beach. Among those first assault troops to touch French soil was Company A of the 116th Regiment. Company A was made up of young men from Bedford, Virginia. When the sun set on that day of days, 19 of Bedford's best and brightest lay dead.
