A Day In The Steel City

I haven't been to Pittsburgh in a few years. And even though there wasn't a game today, me 'n Goody Two Shoes drove over and spent a few hours down by Heinz Field, PNC Park and the DelMonte Building.

Coming into town on the West End bridge. I think we're crossing over the Monongahela River.

Heinz Field, where the 5 time champions of the NFL play.

They even have black & gold fire hydrants in Pittsburgh.

Photo mural on the side of Heinz Field.

Gate A (facing the river).

Having thoughts of sneaking in......yeah right!

The Camera Totin' Idiot and the Chief. That's Arthur J. Rooney to you non-believers.

Me 'n the Chief discussing a few things.

This sign says it all.

Some of the heros of my youth. Can you hear Springsteen screaming out 'Glory Days?' I can.

Me & the Great One, Roberto Clemente.

Me & my number 1 hero, Willie Stargell.

The 6th Bridge over the Allegheny River.

The building with the white roof in the background is the Convention Center.

Me following a great meal at Jerone Bettis' Grille 36. I highly recommend the Carolina Burger!

Jerome's Grille 36.

A little of the Pittsburgh skyline.

The point, where the Allegheny and the Monongahela Rivers form the Ohio River.

All-in-all, a great day to be in Pittsburgh. Pity I can't afford to go back next week when the Steelers are playing.

Enjoyed your photos of Pittsburgh; we were recently there for the first time and saw many of the same things, but didn't know what they all were! Travels with Children has the details.
