Tennessee Vacation

Skippy, our oldest lives in Clarksville, Tennessee. He's been out there for more than a year now. So, for 5 days, me, Goody Two Shoes and the Wild Child trooped all over the Clarksville-Nashville area of Tennessee. Came back with a new favorite restaurant--Old Chicago. Pizza, pasta, & beer...deeeeelish!

We had a great time, but it was hot out there, 95-100 every day. They don't get the humidity like we do in the east, but man, when you can fry an egg on the sidewalk at eight o'clock in the evening...that's hot!

Here's a few photos of our little jaunt.

The Wild Child riding shotgun and listening to her I-Pod.

Did some antique shopping in Cadiz, Kentucky. Nice town!

The Cumberland River at Fort Donelson.

Me & the Wild Child in our hotel room.

Tony (my niece's husband), the Filthy Beast, and Skippy at Old Chicago

The Big River Brewing Company on Broadway, in Nashville. Great food, great atmosphere.

Skippy contemplating his beer.

Skippy sampling his beer.

And his reaction.

A Nashville icon...Tootsie's Orchid Lounge (the purple building). Many of country music's biggest stars played Tootsie's when they were trying to get noticed. I stood in the doorway last year and listened to a young lady singing a Patsy Cline tune.

Oh, and we went to the Grand Ole Opry too. Here's Jeannie Seely.

And Little Jimmy Dickens

Andy Griggs...one of Goody Two Shoes Favorites.

Porter Wagoner, singing Green, Green Grass of Home.

And Loretta Lynn, singing Coal Miner's Daughter.
