Twenty-four hours later the area was a killing ground as 20 plus German divisions slammed into 4 American Divisions. Today, we call it the Battle of the Bulge.

Hitler wanted to fight the Americans instead of the British because he regarded the Americans as soft. So, 18 and 19 year old kids met the Panzertruppen. Want to know who won? The next photo says it all.

Everywhere we turn here in Germany we are confronted by history, much of it sad. This next year we are hoping to do some history reading and visit some places with the boys.
